About Elk Ridge Village
The staff was very informative, very professional, warm, and friendly. We saw a number of different rooms in independent living, assisted living, apartments, and townhomes. Their apartments are nice and clean and not brand new but very well kept. They were very homey and very warm. It wasn’t so contemporary like a lot of the places they’re building now, but I think that seniors don’t really appreciate the contemporary.
I did like the program that they had, the daily activity program. The staff was friendly, I did like the activities, the lounge area and all that. The room size was pretty good, too. So they did have a lady that came in, and where they did their exercise, they had a ball exercise or some type of chair aerobics and that was pretty good. You have the flexibility to either attend or just watch the activities. The rooms are centered highly around that area, so you are a part of it, even if you're not participating in it.

The atmosphere they had created was like a little neighborhood. They didn’t have an option where you can just pay monthly. You had to pay a bunch of money upfront like a down payment.

I will be moving to Independence Hill Retirement Resort Community by the end of the month. It's within my price range, very nice, and well maintained. I chose an apartment, which was cute and would cost less.
If I remember right, they also had individual houses as well as rooms or apartments. They also have continuum of care, so that you could go from independent living to assisted living, and I think even to nursing home care. They had some pretty good size rooms. I like the friendly demeanor of the people who live there. Not the staff, but the very nice folks. It has a very good social environment.
